PERSONAL HISTORY

Jason grew up in Wichita (Kansas) and attended Isely Alternative School, which was the city's elementary school for gifted students.  After advancing through various honors programs in middle school, Jason was accepted into the city's Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate program at Wichita High School East.  He graduated early, completing high school in 2 1/2 years.

Jason married young and spent his early adulthood raising two kids while working and going to school.  He eventually earned a degree in Philosophy, a minor in Mathematics, and a master's in Sociology from Wichita State University (WSU).  His master's studies focused on using IBM SPSS Statistics software to compile Census data, test for correlations, and develop statistical models.   His graduate thesis focused on social and economic inequality within the U.S. labor market.  Since graduating from WSU, Jason has completed additional coursework through Cornell and NYU with a focus on real estate analysis and construction project management.

From the earliest days of his career, Jason has been involved with nonprofit and community organizations.  He now spends a majority of his time working on the nonprofits that he founded. In Wichita he maintains his position as the Founder and Chairman of the Board for COMCARE Community Partners, which is the nonprofit sister organization of COMCARE - the state's largest community health organization.  In Denver he runs the Civic Health Coalition, which is presently focused on addressing the nation's affordable housing crisis.
