Jason grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended the city's first magnet school. After advancing through various honors programs, Jason was accepted into the city's first International Baccalaureate program at Wichita High School East. He graduated early, completing high school in 2 1/2 years.
After high school, Jason earned a BGS in Philosophy and minor in Math from Wichita State University. He also completed a Master's in Sociology (from WSU), with a focus on data analysis and social statistics. Since that time he has completed professional coursework through Cornell and NYU.
From the earliest days of his career, Jason has been involved with nonprofit and community organizations. He now spends a majority of his time working on the nonprofits that he founded. In Wichita he leads COMCARE Community Partners, which supports COMCARE - the state's largest community health organization. In Denver he runs the Civic Health Coalition, which leads a national coalition focused on addressing inequality and its two most devastating consequences: homelessness and poverty.
