Jason grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended the city's first magnet school. After advancing through various honors programs, Jason was accepted into the city's first International Baccalaureate program at Wichita High School East. He graduated early, completing high school in 2 1/2 years.
After high school, Jason earned a BGS in Philosophy and minor in Math from Wichita State University. He also completed a Master's in Sociology (from WSU), with a focus on data analysis and social statistics. Since that time he has completed professional coursework through Cornell and NYU.
From the earliest days of his career, Jason has been involved with nonprofit and community organizations. Over the years he has served on the boards of many nonprofits and community organizations. Most recently he partnered with the Sedgwick County Commission to form the public-private partnership COMCARE Community Partners. He also founded and runs the Civic Health Foundation.
