Flats 324 expansion expected to be at capacity before opening

by Josh Heck

If initial demand is any indication, a 72-unit addition to the Flats 324 apartments won't be difficult to fill.

Jason Van Sickle, a co-developer in the project with Dave Burk, tells me he's fielding multiple calls from people interested in leasing one of the units. That's without any formal marketing of the property, located at 324 N. Emporia in the former Wichita High School.

A 72-unit expansion of the Flats 324 apartment complex is expected to be open in June.

Its the first project Ive been involved with that Ive started having leases before we even start marketing, Van Sickle says.

The ground-up expansion, which started last summer, comes with a $7 million price tag.

Van Sickle says he expects the new units to be open in June. The first show units, he says, should be done within the next 30 days.
